Class Descriptions:

Intro to Digital Photography You have a DSLR or mirrorless camera but you don’t know how to use it. We will cover all the basics of how to choose a lens, the exposure triangle, the basics of good composition, and some technical details like why you might want to shoot RAW instead of JPG. This class will give you the confidence to handle your camera and take a great photo that’s useable straight out of the camera, no editing required. Bring your camera to class and be ready to try it out!

Digital Photography 101 You already know how to use your camera and are ready to take photos, so we will take this a step further and discuss how to make those photos even better. We will cover proper exposure, lighting, composition, types of lenses, and the basics of editing. Students will test their skills at the end of class and get feedback on their photos before they leave.

Mobile Photography Do you want to take better photos with your smart phone? Then this class is for you! We will NOT be covering DSLR/Mirrorless cameras in this workshop. Rather, we will discuss best practices for taking pics with your smart phone (Android or iPhone) and some editing apps that are free or low-cost that will help you get the most out of the photos you took. Bring your (fully charged) cell phone and a photo or two that you’ve already taken you want feedback on. And bring plenty of questions!
